Position: Clinical Research Fellow, 2017 - 2018, with possibility of additional second year

Location: Henry Ford Department of Dermatology, Detroit, MI

Mentor: Dr. Iltefat Hamzavi

Requirements: Completion of Preliminary or Transitional Year by July 2017

Description:  The clinical research fellow will be responsible for conducting clinical research in photomedicine and lasers for the indications of pigmentation and follicular disorders.  Areas of focus include: vitiligo, melasma, hyperpigmentation, and hidradenitis suppurativa. Responsibilities will include; regulatory submissions to the internal review board, protocol development and implementation, data analysis, and manuscript writing. Fellow will be required to attend the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Conference, with the possibility of additional conference attendance. Clinical research conduct is not limited to but will include the following; performing biopsy procedures, melanocyte keratinocyte transplant procedure for vitiligo, carbon dioxide laser excision for hidradenitis suppurativa, and specialized imaging techniques such as colorimetry and high frequency ultrasound. Training for imaging procedures will be given by the Subcutaneous Research Physicist, Indermeet Kohli, PhD.
