The USF Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery is currently seeking applicants for a research assistant position to begin this summer.  This opportunity is for 6 to 12 months mentorship under the direction of Dr. Patel (Director, clinical research) and Dr. Seminario (Associate director, clinical research).  The research assistant will gain valuable experience in preparing IRB submissions and conducting clinical research.  She/he will learn to navigate health publication databases and make use of research reference software for the purpose of research preparations. He/she will also learn to develop research protocols, identify funding and formulate grant applications. The research assistant will be expected to present a poster during USF research day,  and to write and submit a research manuscript and case reports to peer-reviewed journals.

The research assistant will also have the opportunity to attend all the USF resident academic conferences and will assist Dr. Patel in his transplant clinic and round with Dr. Seminario on her Tampa General Hospital inpatient consult service, among other clinics.

Prerequisites:
1. Applicants must be enrolled in medical school.
2. USMLE Step 1 transcript
3. Medical school transcript
4. CV
